Maurice A. "Dutch" ParisThompsonville, IL Maurice A. "Dutch" Paris, 78, of Thompsonville, IL, died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at his home. Mr. Paris was born on January 18, 1933 in Marion, KY the son of Ivan Paris and Bertha (Cannon) Paris. Dutch was a retired Correctional Officer with the Illinois Department of Corrections and was the owner and operator of Paris Cabinet Shop. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a former member of the Akin Masonic Lodge in Thompsonville, IL and a former member of the Thompsonville Grade School Board. He loved fishing and gardening. Surviving relatives include two sons, Jeff and wife Debbie Paris, Thompsonville, IL, Gary Paris, West Frankfort, IL, one daughter, Lisa Dickey, North Reading, MA, nine grandchildren, Aaron Paris, Lee Summit, MO, Kimberly and husband Doug Cremer, West Frankfort, IL, Ashlie, Kaitlin, Cortney Paris, all of West Frankfort, IL, Michael Paris, Bangor, ME, Angelle Paris-Roberts, Whittington, IL, Skylar and Dakota Dickey, both of North Reading, MA, one great-grandchild, Alyssa Cremer, three brothers, Clarence Paris, Bourbonnais, IL, Enos Paris, Galatia, IL, Hershel Paris, Harrisburg, IL, two sisters, Virginia Phillips, Marion, IL, Doris Emery, Clearwater, FL and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Paris was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gaylord and Gleaford Paris. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Morris officiating.
