Mavis June Duckworth, 83, of Benton, IL, passed away at 12:32 p.m., on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton, IL.
Mavis was born on April 27, 1934, to John and Zella (Smith) Bowers. She enjoyed crocheting and loved her great-grandson, Chase, dearly.
Mavis is survived by her children, John Anderson Duckworth and his wife, Debra of Winder, GA, and Delores Kay Ritchason and her husband, James of Benton, IL; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Zella Bowers; two brothers, and two sisters.
Services have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
