Melba Foster, 70, of East St. Louis formerly of Benton, passed away on October 4, 2015, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL . She was born on December 9, 1944, to James and Vergie (Groves) Johnson. Melba is survived by husband, David Foster; five sisters, Alice Johnson of Benton, IL, Julie Kopec of Benton, IL, Paulette McPhail of West Frankfort, IL, Judy Shreves of Benton, IL and Mary Fitzpatrick of Benton, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Shirley Faye Burgess, Lovetta Johnson and Janet Francine Johnson; four brothers, Jerry Johnson, Charles Johnson, James Johnson and Richard Johnson. Services will be privately held. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of funeral arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
