Michael E. Greeney, 50, of Benton, passed away at 2:25 p.m., on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at his residence.

He was born on April 26, 1968, to James and Riattia "Jeanette" (Brewer) Greeney in Charleston, SC.

Michael enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, watching and playing basketball.

He is survived by a brother, James (Karen) William Greeney of Benton, IL; a sister, Paula Sanders; a nephew, Brad (Lyndsay Key) Greeney; a great-nephew, Remington; and a great-niece, Meelah.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Father, James R. and Riattia "Jeanette" Greeney; and one brother, Mark A. Brewer.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.

Per Michael's wishes cremation will take place.

Services will be private.
