Mildred F. (Learned) Boyd - Benton, IL Mildred F. (Learned) Boyd, 85, of Benton, IL, died at 12:42 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Boyd was born on July 29, 1927 in Benton, IL the daughter of William Merritt Learned and Cora Mae (Cook) Learned. She married William Boyd on June 21, 1963 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1990. Mildred worked at several local businesses including General Electric, F.W. Woolworth, Bank of Benton, and most recently West City Wal-Mart as a door greeter. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and bowling. Surviving relatives include three nieces, Barbara (Melvin) Dixon, Benton, Brenda (Larry) Eubanks, Benton, Melissa Learned, Marion, IL, two nephews, Thomas "TJ" Learned, Benton, Loren Beau (Cheryl) Boyd, Benton, and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Guy Learned, Harold Learned, Sr., William "Billy Learned, and one sister, Pauline Graham. Visitation will be from Noon to 2:00 p. m. Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Eddie Paul Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton.
