Nancy S. Kays - Benton, IL Nancy S. Kays, 67, of Benton, IL, died at 11:25 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Kays was born on July 18, 1944 in Washington, D.C. the daughter of Ellis Spain and Eula (Kerley) Spain. She married Fred Kays on May 14, 1995 and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2009. Nancy worked at WQRL Radio in Benton for several years. She was a member of the Benton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Kelly (Scott) Darnell, Thompsonville, IL, Victoria (Jesse) Minor, Benton, IL, one step-daughter, Brandy Little, DuQuoin, IL, four grandchildren, Lance and Ryan Darnell, both of Thompsonville, IL, Jesse Minor, Jr., and Jeremy Minor, both of Benton, IL, Kyle Kujawa and Camryn Little, both of DuQuoin, IL, her mother, Eula Spain, Benton, IL. Mrs. Kays was preceded in death by her father and husband. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, Benton, IL, is in charge of arrangements.
