Patsy Lee Batts - Benton, IL Patsy Lee Batts, 80, of Benton, IL, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Batts was born on October 7, 1930 in West Frankfort, IL the daughter of Commodore Birl Rose and Effie (Boyd) Rose. She married James Robert Batts on June 13, 1953 and he preceded her in death on January 17, 1999. Patsy worked as a librarian for the Benton Public Library prior to her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Forest Baptist Church, Benton, IL. She enjoyed cooking, reading, antiquing and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving relatives include one daughter, Susan Batts, Benton, IL, three sons, Alan Batts and wife Mary, Champaign, IL, Jim Batts and wife Betty, Benton, IL, Steve Batts, Benton, IL, five grandchildren, Jeremy, Jennifer, Leslie Batts, all of Benton, IL, Kara and Ryan Batts, both of Tuscola, IL, two sisters-in-law, Joann Rose, Girard, IL, Evelyn Batts, Benton, IL, several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Dorthea Sneed, Benton, IL. Mrs. Batts was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Walter Ray Rose. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Steve House and Brother Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.
