Phyllis J. Landis - Benton, IL Phyllis J. Landis, nee Eubanks, 73, of Benton, IL died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Herrin Hospital, Herrin IL. She was born on May 21, 1940, in Harco, IL, the daughter of Albert Eubanks and Dorothy (Mills) Eubanks. Phyllis was a Certified Nurses Assistant. She loved her family dearly and always made time available to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing, shopping & cooking. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Sandy Riddle and husband, Spencer, Herrin, IL, three brothers, Harry Eubanks and wife Mildred, Benton, IL, Richard Eubanks and wife Kelly, Whittington, IL, and Robert Eubanks and wife Carolyn, Mt. Vernon, IL, one sister, Juanita Speers and husband, Lewis, of Michigan, two grandchildren, Rachel Kroese, Carterville, IL and Amanda Kroese, Herrin IL, two great-grandchildren, Dallas and Scarlett and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ms. Landis was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Rex Pratt, two sisters, Pat Eubanks and Mary Lou Eubanks, and two brothers, Albert Eubanks and Jerry Eubanks. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014, at Hobbs Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory, Benton, IL with Funeral services to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lewis Sweers officiating.
