Raymond D. ChaneyWest Frankfort, IL Raymond D. Chaney, 71, of West Frankfort, IL, died at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at his home. Mr. Chaney was born on October 4, 1938 in Illinois the son of Paul Chaney and Mabel (Head) Chaney. He married the former Diane "Deets" Ortt and she preceded him in death in 1992. Ray worked as a car salesman for several car dealerships in the Chicago-land area before retiring in 2003 and moving to West Frankfort, IL. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the West Frankfort V.F.W., Moose, and Elks. Surviving relatives include special friend, Sue Mace, West Frankfort, IL, three children, Pam Chaney and husband John Dimond, Fort Collins, CO, Kevin Chaney and wife Martine Gacher, Luxembourg, Shawn Chaney, Bloomingdale, IL, two grandchildren, Megan R. Chaney, Fort Collins, CO, Michele D. Chaney, Luxembourg, one sister, Marilyn Hachmeister and husband Lennie, Port Richey, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Chaney was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother, Marvin Chaney.
