Rhea Eva Odom, 56, of Benton, passed away on July 18, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon, IL, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 22, 1958, to Everett Odom and Vera (Austin) Odom-DeMattei in Benton, IL. Rhea Eva worked as a Deputy Clerk at the 5th District Appellate Court for Appellate Court in Mt. Vernon. Rhea Eva was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Christopher, IL. She was a loving Daughter, Mother, "Nani" Grandmother, Sister and friend to many. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Rhea Eva enjoyed gardening and her cats. She was very artistic. Rhea Eva is survived by her mother and step-father, Vera (Austin) and William "Chick" DeMattei; a son, Ora Mason Williams and wife Jenna, of Belle Chasse, LA; a daughter, Andrea Rhea Williams of Carterville, IL; two sisters, Paula Fay (Garry) Rentfro of Lebannon, TN and Janis (Steve) Strickland of Mt Vernon, IL; two brothers, Terry (Debby) DeMattei of Clayton, NC and Scott (Marylin) DeMattei of Thornville, OH; two grandsons, Ryan Hawk and Mason Hawk; twelve nieces and nephews, Jimmy (Britany) Wells, Amber (Adrian) Smith, Stephen Strickland, Brook (Todd) Dickneite, Anna Michelle Rentfro, Lisa Pierce, Jeff Rentfro, Jimmy (Ashley) Rentfro, Chad (Jessica) DeMattei, Erika (Adrian) Adornetto, Abbie (Nate) Poe and Ashley (Matt) Herbert. She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Odom and a niece, Alicen Michelle Wells. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2015, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2015, 11:00 am at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, Benton, IL, with Pastor Alan Newman, officiating. Burial will take place in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery.
