Richard Mansell, 69, of McLeansboro, IL, died at 6:52 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Saint Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Mr. Mansell was born on April 19, 1945 in Flannigan Township, IL the son of John Richard Foster Mansell and Georgia Bell (Dial) Mansell and they both preceded him in death. Richard graduated from McLeansboro Township High School in 1963. He then went into the United States Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Division as a Paratrooper during the Dominican Republic Uprising. After serving in the Army he returned home and worked as a farmer until his retirement. Surviving relatives include his sister, Jennie L. Upton and husband Gary L., from Tulsa, OK, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Mansell was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Uriah D. Mansell. Services will be privately held.
