Obituary

Roger "Ike" Dean Isenhour, 82, of Benton, passed away at 3:00 a.m, on January 10, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Isenhour was born on May 8, 1933 to Paul and Leila (Harris) Isenhour in East St Louis, IL. On April 17, 1954 he married Betty Marsh in Whidbey Island, WA. Roger retired after 23 years of active duty service from the United States Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. After his retirement he worked for Inland Steeel Coal mine as a coal mine operator until the mines closure.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Frankfort, IL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, outdoor activities and being a pet owner. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather.

Roger is survived by his loving spouse of 61 years, Betty; a daughter, Linda Cosner and husband Matthew of New Bern, NC; and one granddaughter, Amber Csizmadia and husband Jeffrey of Havelock, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Benton, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016, 10:30 a.m., at Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Benton, IL, with Pastor Alan Janneke, officiating. Burial will follow services at Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL., with military rites by the Benton American Legion Post 290, VFW Post 2671 and the United States Navy Honors Team.
