Ronnie L. McCormick - Benton, IL Ronnie L. McCormick, 73, of Benton, IL, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Benton Healthcare and Rehab Center. Mr. McCormick was born on April 22, 1937 in Arbyrd, MO, the son of Virgil McCormick and Aleta (Johnston) McCormick. He married the former Donna R. Reutzel on June 14, 1979 and she preceded him in death on November 23, 2010. Ronnie retired as Superintendent of Ewing Grade School. He was a member of the Benton First United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving relatives include a son, Lee McCormick, Houston, TX, two step-daughters, Dana Sherman, Benton, IL, Kandi Williams, Thompsonville, IL, one step-granddaughter, Cassandra Jolieff and husband Donnie, Advance, MO, two step-great-grandsons, Stevie and Josiah Jolieff, both of Advance, MO. Mr. McCormick was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Shook officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.
