Rosalie ShawBenton, IL Rosalie Shaw, 85, of Benton, died at 12:45 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, Mt. Vernon, IL. Mrs. Shaw was born April 28, 1925 in Logan, IL the daughter of Aaron Cosby Floyd and Victoria (Hinton) Floyd. She married Bill G. Shaw on July 24, 1944 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2006. Rosalie was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Benton, IL where she was involved in Keenagers and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was a fifty year member of the Benton Eastern Star. She is survived by one son, Bobby Gene Shaw and wife Flossie, Benton, MO, four grandchildren, Vickie Christine (Shaw) Young, Bernie, MO, Melody June Strong, Houston, TX, Robert Allan Shaw, Tucson, AZ, Karen Renee CiCano, Cheyenne, WY, ten great-grandchildren, one sister, Pat Yates and husband Bill, Fairfield, IL and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, Helen Crowley, Wilma Miley, Margaret Guglielmi, and Wandy Ramsey, and a brother, Halford Floyd. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Brother Eddie Paul Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton.
