Shawn Michael "Elrod" Eldridge, 28, of Benton, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in Benton, IL.

He was born on April 14, 1990, to Danny E. and Cindy S. (Tasky) Eldridge at Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL. Shawn was a 2008 graduate from Benton Consolidated High School, and worked as a Coal Miner at S & L Industries, LLC.

Shawn was a loving son and father. He loved spending time at Starks Total Body Fitness weight lifting and working on his overall fitness and health. Shawn enjoyed being outdoors with friends and fishing. His pride and joy was his little girl, and his two pet dogs, Hoss and Kush.

Shawn is survived by his loving daughter, Emeri Jade Eldridge of Benton, IL; parents, Danny E. and Cindy S. (Tasky) Eldridge; special nephew and his little buddy, Austin Joe Eldridge of Benton, IL; companion, Ashley Griffith of Benton, IL; two aunts, Linda Knapp of Benton, IL and Pam Ray of Charlotte, NC; one uncle, Monty (Jean) Eldridge of Manteno, IL; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his big brother, Josh Joe "Elrod" Eldridge.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at Pate Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., at the Pate Funeral Home, with Jim Muir officiating.

Burial will take place in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pate Funeral Home in care of funeral expenses, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
