Shelia Kay Connor - Benton, IL Shelia Kay Connor, 50, of Benton, died at 12:20 p. m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Ms. Connor was born on January 30, 1963 in Benton, IL the daughter of John Connor and Barbara (Broadway) Connor. Shelia worked at the Walgreen' Distribution Center in Mt. Vernon prior to her illness. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Breanna Rae Rooney, Benton, two brothers, Ted (LaDonna) Long, Benton, Rick Long, Benton, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her close friends, Brenda Shafer, Virginia, Vickie Cantrell, Gretchen Livernois, and Denise Weiss, all of Benton. Ms. Connor was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bobby Thomas. Visitation will be from Noon to 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home and Crematory in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Curtis Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.
