Shirley Jane Holdren - Benton, IL Shirley Jane Holdren, 73, of Benton, IL, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, Mt. Vernon, IL. Ms. Holdren was born on January 23, 1938 in Franklin County, IL the daughter of Roy Hale and Chrystal (Biddle) Hale. She married Joe Holdren and he preceded her in death in 1991. Shirley worked as an assistant manager at KFC in Benton, IL and later as a school bus aide in Ashland City, TN. She was a member of the Church of God, Dale, IL and enjoyed bingo and camping. Surviving relatives include her mother, Chrystal Hale, West City, IL, one daughter, Debra Schultz and husband Leonard, Henrietta, TN, three grandchildren, Helen Wilson and husband Roy, Ashland City, TN, Eric Schultz and special friend Tammy Parker, Henrietta, TN, Katrina Schultz, Kuwait, six great-grandchildren, a brother, Roy Hale and wife Edna, West City, IL, a sister, Helen Farkas and husband A.J., West Frankfort, IL, special friend, Jack Cantrell, Benton, IL, and several nieces, and nephews. Ms. Holdren was preceded in death by her father, husband, one brother, Paul Dean Hale and one grandson, Joseph Trent Patterson. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Rod Joplin officiating. Burial will be in the Brady Cemetery, Akin, IL.
