Shirley Ann Tindall, 92, of Benton, Illinois went peacefully to be with the Lord on January 18, 2024, at the Villa East Nursing Home in Sherman, Illinois.
She was born on November 2, 1931, in Benton, Illinois. She was the daughter of Albert and Evelyn Fisher of Chester, Illinois. She married the love of her life, John Allen Tindall on July 3, 1948. They had 5 children: Pat, Cheri, Jill, Jeff and Greg.
Shirley attended Chester High. The family was proud of her when, in the 1970's, she studied hard and received her GED in her 40's! Way to go mom!! She was of the Methodist faith. She was an excellent seamstress, creating beautiful clothes for family and friends. She was a avid reader, always reading her books in bed before she went to sleep for the night.
She is survived by; her daughter, Cheri and husband Dr. Larry Elkins of Linville, North Carolina: her daughter, Jill and husband Dr. Mike Zinzilieta of Springfield, Illinois; her son Greg and wife, Vevia Tindall of Benton, Illinois; her sister, Patty and husband Roger Alms of St. Charles, Mo; 12 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Tindall was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Allen Tindall; her son, Patrick Wayne Tindall; her son, Jeffrey Allen Tindall; her grandson Brandon Lee Tindall: her parents and two sisters, Jama and Beverly.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.
A private service will be held as per the families wishes. There will no public service. The service will be officiated by long time family friend, Pastor Mark Minor.
Memorial Contributions maybe made in honor of Shirley Tindall to the Benton Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
