Stella "Tuts" (Tucker) RodriguezWest City, IL Stella "Tuts" (Tucker) Rodriguez, 73, of West City, IL, died at 4:55 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at her home. Ms. Rodriguez was born on January 18, 1938 in DuQuoin, IL the daughter of Edward Tucker and Edith (Castele) Tucker. Stella worked in housekeeping at Mr. Vernon Care Nursing Home prior to her retirement. She attended the North Benton Baptist Church and was a member of the Benton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a foster mother. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Brenda Novak, Benton, IL, Angela Smith, Benton, IL, Lakeisha Rodriguez, Benton, IL, four sons, Richard Willett, Bonnie, IL, John Willett, West Frankfort, IL, Kevin Shuman, Marion, IL, Jarrett Rodriguez, Benton, IL, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two brothers, Clyde Tucker, Christopher, IL, George Tucker, Zeigler, IL, four sisters, Edith Allen, Christopher, IL, Mary Bloom, Sesser, IL, Naomi Cash, Benton, IL, Rita Tucker, Olney, IL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ms. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Kathy Shuman, three sisters, Alberta VanHoorebeke, Katherine Lambert, Betty Tucker, and one brother, Billy Tucker. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Hammonds officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows, Benton, IL.
