Steven "Duey" DeWitt - Benton, IL Steven "Duey" DeWitt, 20, of Benton, IL, died at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home. Mr. DeWitt was born on February 4, 1990 in DuQuoin, IL the son of Denise (Bauer) Davis and Bob DeWitt. Duey enjoyed hanging out with his friends, playing pool and basketball. He also enjoyed listening to music and talking to his friends on MySpace and Facebook. Surviving relatives include his mother and step-father, Denise and Dennis Davis, Benton, IL, his father and girlfriend, Bob DeWitt and Diane Galloway, Zeigler, IL, three brothers and one sister, Bobby and Colin DeWitt, both of Benton, IL, Christian and Jamie DeWitt, both of Zeigler, IL, his maternal grandmother, Donna Bauer, Benton, IL, paternal grandparents, Jim and Linda DeWitt, Zeigler, IL, maternal great-grandparents, Clayton and Bernadine Turner, Benton, IL, two aunts, Carrie and husband Ray Walter, Royalton, IL, Lora Seddon and husband Rick, Benton, IL, one niece, Ezabella DeWitt, Benton, IL, several cousins, Scott Hensley, Adam Hensley and wife Erin, Dylan Walter, Timothy, Christina, Kelsey, and Quincy Seddon, Noah and MacKenzie Seddon, Addison and Hunter Hensley, and special friends, Smalls and Bubby. Mr. DeWitt was preceded in death by one sister, Amanda Marie DeWitt and one brother, Tyler Keith DeWitt, his maternal grandfather, Robert Bauer, an Uncle James DeWitt, and an Aunt, Tammy Nauman. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Wall officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton, IL.
