Stewart J. WilliamsThompsonville, IL Stewart J. Williams, 55, of Thompsonville, departed this world on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11:33 a.m. after a long battle with lung disease and took a deep breath to begin his new journey. Stewart was born on April 6, 1957 in Cook County, Illinois the son of Oliver Williams and Betty (VanZandt) Williams. On March 21, 1980 he married Reba and two souls became one for thirty-two years, three months, and four days. Together they loved and raised their children, Todd David Williams, Vienna, Charla (Justin) Hall, Belle Rive, Bethany (Donnie) Smith, Elkville, Heather (Corey) Beals, Jessieville, AR, Bonita Smith, Jessieville, AR. Fifteen grandchildren blessed their family - Caleb Williams, Jacob Williams, Codey Williams, Todd Williams, II, Katlyn Hall, Summer Hall, Dalton Hall, Dakota Norris, Heaven Norris, Chance Norris, Rhianon Smith, Charlisa Smith, Alexandria Williams, Anna Marie Beals, Wyatt Beals. He will be loved and missed by his mother, Betty Williams, Benton, two brothers, Mike Williams, West City, Matthew (Karen) Williams, Mulkeytown, three sisters, Carolyn (Brad) Busse, Sturgeon Bay, WI, Barbara Ziems, Christopher, Melissa (Dale) King, Benton, a very special father-in-law and friend, Charles Ramsey, Thompsonville, sister-in-law, Sharon (Jeff) Ragland, Tamaroa, brother-in-law, Chuck (Janice) Ramsey, West Frankfort, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Stewart had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. He was a Coast Guard certified welder and also a transit driver. He loved music and played in several bands including Home Brew and Legacy. Stewart enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Benton Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Melanie Christine Williams, paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents. Stewarts wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Brothers Carl Leek and Dennis Bush officiating. Masonic rites and Eastern Star rites will immediately follow the service.
