Todd William McWhirter, 47, of Buckner, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Franklin County Hospital ER due to a tree trimming accident.
He was born on February 12, 1968, to George McWhirter and Rinda (Nichols) Hasson in Anchorage, AK. Todd worked as a tree trimmer for My Sons Tree Trimming.
Todd is survived by his father, George McWhirter of Sesser, IL, fiance, Dianna Halsted of Buckner, IL, a daughter, Heather McWhirter and sisters, Lt. Col. Dory Leigh Hasson and Lt. Col. Kay Hasson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rinda Kay Hasson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Pate Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Benton, IL.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the Pate Funeral Home, Benton, IL, with Denny Bush officiating.
Memorials contributions may be made to Pate Funeral Home in care of funeral expenses.
