Venita L. Howell, 53, of West Frankfort, IL, died at 3:06 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her residence. Ms. Howell was born on September 8, 1960 in Anna, IL the daughter of Orville E. Howell and Josephine (Dennison) Howell. Venita was a loving sister and aunt. She had a passion for helping others. She was a kind and gentle soul. Surviving relatives include her brothers and sisters, Kathy Fitzpatrick and husband Norman of Ewing, IL, Roy Howell and wife Suella of Benton, IL, Norma Walters of West Frankfort, IL, James Howell of Vandalia, and many nieces and nephews. Ms. Howell was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Carl Howell, one sister, Josephine Howell and four nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be privately held at Hobbs Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory, Benton, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
