Virginia "Jennie" R. Hunt, 66, of Benton, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at her residence.

She was born on August 3, 1953, to John and Lucy (Owen) Hunt in Morganfield, KY. She attended Union County High School in KY and then received her Associates Degree in Science from Southern Indiana University. She worked as a Caregiver.

Jennie was a loving mother, grandmother and dear friend to many. She was a delight to be around with her charismatic personality and always knew how to bring a smile out of anyone.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheri Steele of Benton, IL; a son, Steven Lampley of Benton, IL; two grandchildren, River Steele of McLeansboro, IL, and Keefer Steele of McLeansboro; a brother, Lawrence Hunt of Benton, IL; and her loving pet dog, Charli.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.

Jennie's wish was to be donated to science.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Second Chance Rescue of Franklin County and will be accepted at the funeral home.
