William Irving Flowers - Benton, IL William Irving Flowers, 78, of Benton, IL, died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the Veteran' Affairs Nursing Home, Marion, IL. Mr. Flowers was born on August 11, 1932 in Rutherford, TN the son of Howard Flowers and Emma (King) Flowers. He married the former Frances Bea Fleming and she preceded him in death in December 1990. Bill worked at the Berwyn High School as a maintenance man and janitor prior to his retirement. He served his country as an Airman First Class in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He loved fishing, hunting, spending time with friends, and being outdoors watching animals pass through his property. Surviving relatives include a sister-in-law, Gracie Mae (Fleming) Peek and husband Billy Wayne, Richmond, CA, two nephews, Billy W. Peek, Jr. and wife Nancy, Jackson, OH, Christopher Lloyd Peek, Dublin, GA, special friend, Marilyn Lux, West City, IL, and neighbors, Jerry and Linda Frey, Benton, IL. Mr. Flowers was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one son, Terry Flowers. Bills wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services.
