Obituary

William Carl Turpin (Tinkertoy)

Passed peacefully in his sleep at home in Benton IL, on June 5th at 4:30 a.m. at the age of 77. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle William was honorably discharged February 22nd 1956 from the United States Air Force . He was also a dedicated over the road truck driver for the majority of his life. Cooking was a passion for  William he was known for his Italian Beef. In his younger years he opened Cecil's Place and in his later years Turpin's Table Cafe. He enjoyed going to truck shows and watching NASCAR races.

William is survived by wife of 30 years Barbara Turpin, two sisters Carlagene Olkoski and Helen Kay Johns. Four children Tammy Roberts, Nanette Skinner, Carl Turpin, Cecilia Mae, and Nancy Turpin-Wooldridge. William had three stepchildren Crystal Mize, Rex Mize, and Roy Mize. He also had many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Cecil Turpin. A wife Patricia Turpin-Mize and two daughters Kimberly Wilce and Donna Marie Turpin. Including two brother-in-laws Gail Johns and Rudy Olkoski

William's wishes were that he be cremated, and no services held.

Cremation services were under the direction of Pate Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Benton, IL.
