Robert A. WilliamsLockport, NY Robert A. Williams, 93, of Lockport, NY, a former Benton resident, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Niagara Hospice, Lockport, NY. Mr. Williams was born on May 30, 1916 in Drumright, OK, the son of Cleveland Williams and Mattie (Combs) Williams. He married the former Fern Hensley on April 15, 1937 and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2004. Robert was the owner and operator of Erie Pipeline Company, Mt. Vernon, IL, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, member of the Benton Masonic Lodge, and a lifelong member of the Boneyard Boccie Club, Benton, IL. Surviving relatives include two brothers-in-law, Jack Hensley, Richmond, VA, Jerry Don Hensley, Buffalo, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a daughter, Bobby Jean Williams. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
